Hand Habits Releases “Greatest Weapon” / “Under the Water”

Today Hand Habits, the project of Los Angeles-based musician Meg Duffy, releases two new singles “Greatest Weapon” b/w “Under The Water,” as part of our singles series.
A-Side “Greatest Weapon,” a song Duffy says “is about coming to grips with the dance of time,” finds them further exploring the sonic spaces that made 2021’s Fun House such an engrossing experience. It was written with Ethan Gruska and recorded in his home studio in Los Angeles and features Nick Sanborn and Amelia Meath of Sylvan Esso on background vocals.
B-Side “Under The Water” is Duffy’s latest collaboration with longtime friend Amelia Meath. The track features Meath on lead vocals, who says “I wrote it all in one go- learning how to hold my head underwater when I was a kid was a moment of independence that I hadn’t been expecting- all of the sudden I was able to be completely alone in the pool- even when I was surrounded by people.”
Hand Habits is also set to play Psychic Hotline’s Block Party at Cat’s Cradle in Carrboro, North Carolina on October 15th. Tickets are on-sale now.
